Hi guys and girls, Dancing is in my blood but I didn't find that out until only 5 years ago. Since walking into a studio at the beginning of 2007 I’ve found something that’s got me off the couch and back into connecting with people who just want to have fun. I love trying to push myself to continue learning and enjoy helping others get to where they want to be in dancing.
I love competing as it has helped me advance very quickly to a level where I am dancing with some of the most talented dancers in this country in Modern Jive. I have also recently started to explore West Coast Swing a dance where the moves and styling can be easily adapted to Modern Jive.
My real job involves travelling a bit and as a result I have been to most studios that teach Modern Jive around New Zealand so I have a good idea of what people are looking for when they want to learn to dance.
I have recently taken over the management of Cityside Dance Studio because it is one of the best studios in the country. The teachers are of the highest standard and they are also trying to push the boundaries, explore new concepts and create a fun an entertaining experience for all dancers to learn at a speed they are comfortable with.
So come see us at any one of our locations or drop us a line. I’m confident that we can get you up and on that floor in no time.

One of our favourite areas of dance is the choreography, teaching and performance of routines. We have been involved in many demonstration and competition routines, with some of our choreography being used in TV3's "So You Think You Can Dance". It was truly amazing to be involved with dancing at such a professional level and being able to help train some of New Zealand's most talented dancers. |

Ceroc has its origins in the Second World War, when American GI’s based in France, introduced Jive to the dance scene. Locals adapted it and described it as “C’est le roc”! Soon called Ceroc, this funky partner dance quickly became popular, and took off in London in the eighties in a big way, and was trendy with the likes of Princess Diana and her Sloane ranger friends. |
